Acute care centre under construction at Atrium Medical Centre in Heerlen
The Atrium Hospital in Heerlen has developed alongside the coal industry in Limburg, prompting the construction of major clinical departments for pulmonary disorders, surgery and diagnostic radiology. The Atrium Medical Centre will be fully renovated in the years to come and expanded with a centre for acute care. Construction of this centre officially started in the summer of 2013. The new plan features five floors overlooking a central patio, with a total volume of roughly 20,000 m2.
